We arrived LATE for our first day having both guessed the course started at 10am when it actually began at 9:30am (whoops!)! It was only later we realised we had missed a happy call from James making sure we were both ok and had not got lost!
On arrival we were greeted by James and then walked around to the room that we would be launching our new to be successful businesses in. In that room sat our soon to be bestest friends. Softly spoken ‘hug a tree’ Andrea, Ruth with the big holes in her ears that you just couldn’t stop looking at and a face that makes babies laugh…in a nice way! Rock star Mike who resembled a giant version of Julia’s and James’ baby, deep and sexy voiced Yvonne, a Marks and Sparks voiceover wannabe with a very obvious USP! Anurag….who knew so much already it was like having a forth tutor (in a good way) and by the fourth day every time we spoke of him were in tears. Anurag you are so kind and enthusiastic…we love you! And there was a guy called Luke who had man flu and never came back after the first day so he’s on the next course instead!
At the top table sat Anne, a little lady with great legs and glasses and once we had looked under the long cardi we realised she had a nice bum too! Next to Anne sat JULIA BOGGIO looking very, well normal for a celebrity, no 1950′s hair, makeup and dress, but jeans and jumper and a nice smile.
Returned back to the hotel later to discover it was the right one (phew!). Just as well because the other one looked a bit of a dump!
On the Tuesday night we all went out for an Italian, apart from Anne who volunteered to babysit for Julia and James so that they could have a
night out. On the walk back to our hotels fellow student Mike said you can be a great photographer and crap at business or you can be a mediocre photographer and good in business and the later one is more likely to be successful. So true!
On the Wednesday evening we went into Leicester Square and had a meal with the Julia Boggio Class of 2010 who still keep in touch with each
other and still get lots of support from Anne, James and Julia. It’s so refreshing to do a course where the people who run it actually do care what you do once you have left the building. Julia has followed us on twitter from the day we booked the course and always returns my tweets and we will hopefully be doing something very exciting early next year together.
The 4 days were great, Zoe had never done anything like this before and she has come home on a real buzz and can’t wait to get going, I had
done something similar and still loved every minute of it. Anne was great and talked us through everything, Julia was great at the marketing side and James was brilliant at the sales side – I nearly bought 2 frames and a album of a baby I had never met!
A big Dottie love to everyone on the course and we can’t wait to see you at SWPP in January for a big group cuddle and catch up, and of course a good night out on the P—!
Loads of Dottie Love
Mandy and Zoe xx
